Typical Transaction Example
Lara uses her CoinJar Card to purchase some pastries from her local bakery. Her pastries cost £12 in total and she will be charged a transaction fee of 1% on this card purchase.
CoinJar transaction fee: 1.0% of £12 = £0.12
Total amount deducted from Lara's CoinJar account: £12 + £0.12 = £12.12
Foreign Transaction Example
Syed uses his CoinJar Card to purchase a book that costs $200 CAD from an online bookstore based in Canada. At the time, Mastercard's exchange rate is 1 Canadian dollar equals 0.59 Pound sterling.
His purchase converts to £118 GBP and he will be charged a 2.99% fee based on that amount.
Foreign transaction fee: 2.99% of £118 = £3.53
CoinJar transaction fee: 1.0% of £118 = £1.18
Total fees: £3.53 + £4.71 = £4.71
Total amount deducted from Syed's CoinJar account: £118 + £4.71 = £122.71
