CoinJar Faster Payments (FPS) Details are changing

In the near future, you'll no longer be able to use CoinJar’s old Sort Code , Account Number and Account Name to deposit British Pounds using Faster Payments (FPS) from your bank account to your CoinJar account.

What's Changed?

New Sort Code, Account Number and Account Name: For all British Pound Faster Payments Service (FPS) transfers using Sort Code and Account Number, CoinJar is transitioning to a new Sort Code (040919), Account Number, and Account Name.

  • Your Account Name is the name you used when opening your CoinJar account.

  • The Account Number is unique to your CoinJar account and should not be shared with anyone.

This change is designed to provide faster processing times.


Timing: Your new CoinJar Sort Code, Account Number and Account Name are now available for you to view online or in the CoinJar mobile app. We will notify you when it will no longer be possible to deposit funds to the old Sort Code, Account Number and Account Name.

What Do You Need to Do?

If you make bank transfers to your CoinJar account using FPS, you can find your new CoinJar account details in the CoinJar app.

  1. Tap 'Deposit'

  2. Select 'Faster Payments (GBP)'

  3. Tap 'View FPS details'. There is no reference number for your deposit. Your CoinJar Account Number is unique and should not be shared with anyone. 

  4. Using the information from point three above, log into your online banking and update your CoinJar Sort Code, Account Number and Account Name details. Ensure that you enter your Account Name into your banking website or app exactly as it appears on CoinJar's FPS deposit screen. Do not use "CoinJar" or "CoinJar UK Limited" as the Account Name within your banking website / app.

 

Please note that since CoinJar’s Sort Code has changed, your first payment using the new CoinJar Sort Code and Account Number and Account Name might take 1 business day.

Subsequent payments might take 0-1 business days.

 

How to deposit funds to your CoinJar?

Going forward, there will be four options to deposit funds:

  1. As detailed above, use a sort code, account name, and unique account number specific to your CoinJar account for FPS transfers. Your unique IBAN is also provided for those looking to make an international payment. Funds typically arrive within 0–1 business days.

  2. Instant Buy lets you purchase crypto instantly with any UK-issued Visa or Mastercard.

  3. Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) with CoinJar Recurring Buy, with a competitive 1% fee, you can set up automated weekly, fortnightly or monthly debit and credit card crypto purchases.

  4. EUR and AUD deposits are also available through SEPA, bank transfer and PayID.
