Total fees: 1% of $12 = $0.12
Total amount deducted from Lara's CoinJar account: $12 + $0.12 = $12.12
Foreign Transaction Example
Syed uses his CoinJar Card to purchase a book that costs $200 CAD from an online bookstore based in Canada. At the time, Mastercard's exchange rate is 1 Canadian dollar equals 1.09 Australian dollar.
His purchase converts to $218 AUD and he will be charged a 2.99% fee based on that amount.
Foreign transaction fee: 2.99% of $218 = $6.52
CoinJar transaction fee: 1.0% of $218 = $2.18
Total fees: $6.52 + 2.18 = $8.70 AUD
Total amount deducted from Syed's CoinJar account: $218 + $8.70 = $226.70 AUD
