Buying, converting and selling cryptocurrency: the basics

You can buy, sell and convert any of our supported cryptocurrencies using the Trade panel on the Home page.

You can make a bank transfer from your bank account to your CoinJar to add GBP. 
 

How to buy cryptocurrency

  1. If you're using CoinJar web, navigate to Home. If you're using CoinJar mobile app, select the Trade icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Buy and your desired cryptocurrency in the Trade panel
  3. Confirm whether you want to make a One-Time buy or a Recurring Buy
  4. Enter the amount. Note you can use the button labelled with the two arrows to toggle between specifying the number of tokens or an amount in £ as shown in the images below.
  5. Select your payment method
  6. Review and confirm your order.

Navigate over to the Portfolio page at any time to view your Cash and Crypto balances.

 

How to sell cryptocurrency 

  1. If you're using CoinJar web, navigate to Home. If you're using CoinJar mobile app, select the Trade icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Sell and your desired cryptocurrency in the Trade panel
  3. Select One-Time
  4. Enter the amount. Note you can use the button labelled with the two arrows to toggle between specifying the number of tokens or an amount in £ as shown in the images below.
  5. Confirm where you want the £ proceeds paid to (the default is to your CoinJar £ Account).
  6. Review and confirm your order.

How to convert one cryptocurrency to another

  1. If you're using CoinJar web, navigate to Home. If you're using CoinJar mobile app, select the Trade icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Convert in the Trade panel
  3. Select the cryptocurrency you are converting from in the Convert from section
  4. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  5. Select the cryptocurrency you want to confirm to in the Convert to section
  6. Review and confirm your order.

What's in the Markets tab?

The Markets tab gives users a convenient way to view live price charts and place trades all from the same page. Here you'll find:
 
 
  • A list of CoinJar's supported cryptocurrencies.
  • The current market price for each supported cryptocurrency.
  • A price chart with multiple time intervals and technical indicators.
  • Our convenient Trade panel to place your Buy/Sell/Convert trades.

If you select a cryptocurrency in this list, you'll also see:

  • The current market price of that cryptocurrency.
  • Multiple time intervals, technical indicators and different chart types,
  • Market stats, and
  • A convenient Trade panel to easily place your Buy/Sell/Convert trades.
