To provide a trading experience suitable to your needs, the CoinJar Exchange interface has been designed to be completely customisable - allowing you to resize and reconfigure the available layout. 

Interface overview

Presently, there are five different modules that can be added to your CoinJar Exchange - along with two permanent fixtures on the left hand side of the interface. Below is a screenshot of a typical setup incorporating all five modules.

Trade ①

The Trade section is a permanent fixture to the CoinJar Exchange interface, and allows you to initiate buy and sell orders. At the very top of this section you can choose the currencies you wish to trade between - the trading pair - which then dictates the information displayed in the rest of modules you have open within this browser window. 

The pill-shaped buy/sell toggle can be alternated to switch between placing a buy order or a sell order. Above this you're provided with the pricing of the last trade that took place, as well as the best bid and ask price at this moment. You can also view the total volume that has been traded during the current session so far, as well as the time remaining before this session ends. 

Down further you can edit options for the order you wish to place, including the trade type (Limit or Market), price, and size - the amount you wish to trade. Provided you've set your trade type as 'Limit', under the 'Advanced' section you'll be able to set the terms of the trade.

Finally, the 'Place Order' button will immediately place your order using the terms you've entered.

Balances ②

The second permanent fixture of CoinJar Exchange, your Balances section will provide an overview of the funds available in your CoinJar Exchange accounts. This is not to be confused with the balances in your CoinJar, which are stored separately and must be transferred across to CoinJar Exchange in order to be used for trading. 

Transferring funds to and from CoinJar Exchange

Selecting 'View Accounts' will take you to the Accounts section of your CoinJar Exchange settings, allowing you to view all the funds available in both your CoinJar Exchange accounts and CoinJar accounts. The cog icon will also take you to your CoinJar Exchange settings. 

Chart ③

Adding the Chart module to your CoinJar Exchange interface will allow you to track the trade history of the trading pair you've selected. This can be viewed in multiple different intervals, all available to select from at the top of the pane.

The bars along the bottom of this module indicate the trade volumes, and the graph itself can be viewed as either 'mountain', or the more in depth 'candlestick' option.

Order History ④

Once you've placed a new order - regardless of the outcome - your trade will be displayed within this module. Completed orders will be shown as 'Filled' under the 'Status' column, whereas orders that are still in the process of being filled will be shown as 'Booked'. If your order cannot be filled - for example, if you've selected 'Immediate or cancel' and the order cannot be completed, it will be shown as 'Cancelled'. 

Filled and Cancelled orders will be cleared automatically whenever the browser window is refreshed. Booked orders will continue to be shown until they have been completed successfully, or cancelled.

Order Book ⑤

The Order Book displays all of the existing buy and sell orders being placed on CoinJar Exchange. Centred vertically is the last price at which the trading pair you've selected has been exchanged. This will match the Last Price displayed in the Trade section. 

All orders above this line in red are sell orders. The best "ask" price will always be shown closest to the last price, with the following ask prices cascading upwards. Likewise, the orders below the current price in green are buy orders, displaying the best "bid" price closest to the last price. Selecting any ask or bid prices will automatically fill your Trade section with that price. 

The 'Size' column and associated proportion graph provides a visual indication of the current buy/sell orders that would need to be completed to change the current rate. 

Time & Sales ⑥

Time and Sales provides a history of the Order Book, showing all filled orders as they occur.

Fills ⑦

The Fills section provides you with an in-depth look at your previously successful orders. For large order amounts that have been fulfilled by multiple different trades, you can expect to see many entries in your Fills section - all with different sizes. If you've selected your trade type as 'Market', or entered an amount larger or smaller than the current price, your previous fills may also have been completed using different prices. 

Your previous fills are kept on record, and can be viewed within the Fill History section of your CoinJar Exchange settings.

Rearranging modules

CoinJar Exchange has been designed to allow you to customise its interface freely, with the ability to split up and resize the different panes that fill the browser window, as well as add multiple tabs to each separate pane. 

With each new pane or tab created, you can then select from the five available modules described above; Chart, Order Book, Time and Sales, Fills, Order History. 

To begin rearranging your modules, select the dropdown arrow at the top right of your desired pane. This will allow you to split the existing pane either vertically or horizontally. You can also select the "+" symbol to add a new tab, similar to your browser itself. 

Although you can add multiple modules of the same type, it isn't possible to customise these to a second trading pair. The modules you have open in your current browser window will always display the currencies you've selected in the Trade section. 

The configuration of your CoinJar Exchange can always be returned to its original layout within the Interface Options section of your CoinJar Exchange settings. 

Candlesticks

When viewing the Chart module using the 'candlestick' option, the trade graph for your selected period will be made up of visual trading trend indicators known as "candles". Using limited space, each candle provides four details of that particular trading period: the open price, close price, highest prices, and lowest price. This information is detailed in full at the top-left corner of the Chart module when hovering your cursor over a candle. 

Candles are green or red depending on whether the overall price closed higher or lower than the open price of that trade period. It's also possible for the open/close price of a candle to match the low/high price, as shown with the third candle in the above image.
