We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding OMG tokens with CoinJar. As part of the OMG Network's transition to BOBA Network, CoinJar has delisted OMG as of 20 September 2024. Below are the key details of this change and how it may impact you.
Key Points of the Delisting
-
OMG Delisting and Exchange Trading Pairs:
- OMG trading pairs have been delisted from CoinJar Exchange. All open OMG orders were cancelled, and any OMG tokens were transferred back to your CoinJar account.
- OMG will no longer be available for purchase, sale or conversion within CoinJar.
-
CoinJar Bundles Update:
- OMG has been unbundled from all existing CoinJar Bundles. If OMG was part of your Bundle, it will now appear as an individual asset in your CoinJar account.
- New Bundle purchases will exclude OMG, and future rebalances may result in the sale of OMG from current Bundles.
-
Deposits and Withdrawals:
- You can continue to hold OMG in your CoinJar account, and withdrawals will remain available until further notice. However, there will no longer be a market on CoinJar for buying, selling, or converting OMG.
-
If you wish to sell your OMG, explore other exchanges that support it. We recommend checking platforms like CoinGecko's OMG Network page for a list of exchanges that still offer OMG, and ensure you check liquidity before transferring your tokens there.
- No Conversion to Boba Network:
- Please note that CoinJar does not support the conversion of OMG to BOBA. The Boba Network airdropped BOBA tokens to eligible wallets in November 2021, and there is no conversion facility to convert OMG tokens to BOBA tokens. CoinJar did not receive the airdrop.
-
Tax Implications:
- Please be aware that selling or converting your OMG tokens may have capital gains tax implications. We recommend consulting your accountant for professional advice.
What You Need to Do
For existing OMG holders, no immediate action is required. You may continue to hold or withdraw your OMG, but please note that it will no longer be tradable on CoinJar. If you plan to sell your OMG, we advise you to review other exchanges and check liquidity before transferring your tokens.
