Managing your CoinJar details

Edit your profile

Your CoinJar profile consists of your:

  • CoinJar username
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Name and profile photo

You can update any of these details while signed in.

 

Using CoinJar Web

  1. Navigate to ‘More'
  2. Select the box at the top of the menu that displays your username and email address
  3. Select 'edit' next to your username, email address or name to change these details
  4. Tap or click on your profile picture to upload a new image

Using the CoinJar App

  1. Tap 'More' in the bottom right hand corner of your homepage. 
  2. Select the box at the top of the menu that displays your username and email address
  3. Select 'edit' next to your username, email address or name to change these details
  4. Tap or click on your profile picture to upload a new image

 

 

Update your email address

You can change your email address in your CoinJar's profile at any time.

  1. Click More
  2. Click on your profile picture
  3. Click Edit next to your email address
  4. Enter your new email address once, and enter it again to confirm it. Note: This email address can't be in use by any other CoinJar accounts.
  5. Enter your password

We’ll send a confirmation email to your new email address and your old email address — follow the instructions in the confirmation email sent to your new email address to finish updating your email address. You may need to check your junk/spam folder.

 

I've changed my email address but I can't get the confirmation email to work

If you have any issues with confirming the new email address, please follow the steps below:

  1. Sign out of CoinJar on any devices, apps and web browsers. This is an important step.
  2. Visit this link: https://secure.coinjar.com/users/confirmation/new
  3. In the email field, enter in the new email address exactly. Check for any typos or spelling mistakes.
  4. You’ll receive an email from CoinJar with the subject “Confirmation instructions”
  5. Open the email. 
  6. In this email, there is a button near the end of the email that says “Confirm my account”. Click or tap this button.
  7. The button will take you to the CoinJar Sign In page.
  8. Close this page.
  9. Visit this link: https://secure.coinjar.com/users/sign_in (you can also open the CoinJar app and sign in there)
  10. Enter your new email address to sign in
  11. Enter your current CoinJar password
  12. Enter your Enhanced Security / two factor authentication code (if enabled)

 

Update your mobile number

You can change your mobile number at any time.

  1. Click More
  2. Click on Security
  3. Click on Mobile Number
  4. Click on the > icon next to your current mobile number
  5. Click Remove your mobile number
  6. Click Add mobile number
  7. Enter your mobile number. Note: This mobile number can't be in use by any other CoinJar accounts.
  8. If you have Enhanced Security (2FA) enabled, you will be prompted to enter your code. 
  9. After you have submitted your 2FA code, CoinJar will send you a verification code to verify you are in control of the new mobile number.
  10. Click Submit
  11. You should see a message letting you know the number was successfully verified.

 

Manage your contacts

Make sending and receiving cryptocurrency even easier by adding contacts to your CoinJar.

Contacts can be other CoinJar members, or anyone with a wallet address for any of our supported cryptocurrencies. You can add multiple addresses to the same contact. 

To add a contact:

  • Navigate to the 'Contacts' section of your CoinJar. (For mobile users this is in ‘More’. For web users, this is in the top menu bar)
  • Select the ‘+’ icon and then 'Add a new Contact'
  • Enter a Nickname, and their CoinJar username if applicable
  • Select 'Save'

To add a cryptocurrency address to a contact:

  • Navigate to the 'Contacts' section of your CoinJar 
  • Select your contact and then 'Add wallet address'
  • Select the type of wallet address you want to add
  • Enter a nickname for the wallet address
  • Enter the wallet address
  • Confirm these details are correct and select 'Save'

 

Change your reference currency

You can change your CoinJar’s reference currency at any time, however, to a currency that you’re more familiar with.

You'll be able to set your portfolio balances to display either: Australian Dollar (AUD), British Pound Sterling (GBP), European Monetary Unit (EUR), or United States Dollar (USD).

To change your reference currency:

  • Navigate to 'More' and select 'General'
  • Select ‘Interface’ and then ‘Reference currency’
  • You can then change your reference currency
