You can deposit British Pound Sterling (GBP) into your CoinJar via bank transfer (Faster Payments Service). Individual CoinJar members can also deposit European Monetary Unit (EUR) and Australian Dollars (AUD).
If you'd prefer to buy cryptocurrency without first making a fiat deposit, you can use Instant Buy.
Before you begin
- You'll need to verify your identity before you'll be able to make a deposit.
- You'll need to deposit from a bank account held in your own legal name.

How to make a deposit using FPS
- Tap or click on the Deposit button on the home screen, select Bank Transfer (FPS), and take note of the sort code and your unique account number.
- Open your bank's app or website, and follow the prompts to make a new payment. This process will be different for every bank.
- Enter the sort code and account number as seen in step 1.
- You may need to specify a beneficiary name. If prompted, enter CoinJar UK Limited as the beneficiary name.
- Enter the desired deposit amount.
- Confirm the payment.
Important information
- FPS deposits are not instant and may take 1-2 hours to arrive.
- Only deposit using a bank account held in your legal name. Deposits from business accounts, join accounts, or accounts with outdated/incorrect names may be rejected.
- Some banks use a name checking service called 'Confirmation of Payee' to help reduce mistaken payments and fraud. When making a deposit to CoinJar, you may receive a 'No match' warning; this is because CoinJar uses a third party company to facilitate payments. It's safe to proceed, as long as you've entered the exact sort code and account number as provided in your CoinJar's deposit tab.
- CoinJar doesn't support deposits from bank accounts operated by Santander.
Note: The first deposit you make to your CoinJar can take up to one business day to arrive.

Individual CoinJar members can deposit the following foreign currencies into their accounts:

How to make a deposit using SEPA
- Create a new EUR Cash Account in the 'Accounts' section of your CoinJar. You'll need to head over to 'Accounts', and then select 'Add account'.
- Tap or click on the Deposit button on the home screen, select SEPA Transfer, and take note of the IBAN and your SWIFT/BIC.
- Open your bank's app or website, and follow the prompts to make a new payment. This process will be different for every bank.
- Enter the IBAN and SWIFT/BIC as seen in step 1.
- You may be required to specify a beneficiary name. If prompted, enter CoinJar UK Limited as the beneficiary name.
- Enter the desired deposit amount.
- Confirm the payment.
PayID (AUD)

Deposit funds to your CoinJar using a unique email address assigned to your account. You can make PayID deposits outside of business hours without delay.
How to make a PayID deposit
- Tap or click on the Deposit button on the home screen, select PayID, and take note of your unique PayID email address.
- Open your bank's app or website, and follow the prompts to make a new payment. This process will be different for every bank.
- Select email address as the recipient and enter your unique CoinJar PayID email address. Don't select "Organisation ID" or "Business".
- Enter the desired deposit amount.
- Confirm the payment.
Important information
- Deposits made from a bank account that's not registered in your legal name will be rejected and returned.
- PayID deposits made to your unique PayID email address (e.g. sample12345@payid.coinjar.com) do not require a reference number. You can enter any text of your choice in the description field or leave it blank.
- The first PayID deposit you make to CoinJar may take up to 24 hours to arrive while your bank performs security checks.
Bank transfer (AUD)

Bank transfers allow you to directly send funds to your CoinJar using a unique BSB and account number assigned to your account. The BSB and account number will never change, meaning you can schedule future transfers from your bank account.
How to make a bank transfer
- Tap or click on the Deposit button on the home screen, select Bank transfer, and take note of the BSB and your account number.
- Open your bank's app or website, and follow the prompts to make a new payment. This process will be different for every bank.
- Enter the desired deposit amount.
- Enter your CoinJar's unique BSB and account number.
- Confirm the payment.
Important information
- Bank transfers may be instant — or may take up to three business days to arrive. The speed of you transfer will depend on your bank and its support for Osko. If your bank doesn't support Osko or if you've exceeded your bank's Osko limit, your transfer may be sent via a slower method that takes up to three business days to arrive.
- CoinJar has no control over how your bank processes bank transfers.
- There is no minimum deposit amount. The maximum amount depends on your CoinJar's account limits and any limits set by your bank.
- You must only use the BSB and account number issued to you for deposits to your CoinJar account. Deposits made from a bank account not registered in your legal name will be rejected and returned.
