What are CoinJar Bundles?
CoinJar Bundles are a new way for CoinJar members to purchase a collection of popular digital currencies in a single transaction, and easily monitor the performance of those investments over time.
CoinJar Bundles can be accessed exclusively through CoinJar’s mobile app, available for iOS and Android, and will be added to the CoinJar web app in a future update.
You can deposit Australian dollars into any CoinJar bundle from your Cash Account, or you can set up a direct debit payment schedule to automatically deposit funds from your linked bank account into any bundle on CoinJar.

What is the difference between a proportional allocation versus a cap adjusted allocation?
Proportional allocation
This is the simplest allocation type: your purchase amount will be distributed among all the currencies within the given bundle using the specified weighting. This is typically an even distribution based on an investment amount, however some currency allocation can be larger than others depending on the bundle.
Example
A person has $1200 in their Cash Account and wishes to invest the whole amount into purchase the Popular Duo bundle. This bundle is proportionally allocated with a ratio of 50% each meaning that $1200 will be evenly distributed across both BTC and ETH. The end result is that the person now owns the Popular Duo bundle with $600 allocated to BTC and the remaining $600 allocated to ETH.
Note: For the purpose of this example, applicable fees were not included.
Cap adjusted allocation
Your purchase amount will be distributed based on the ratio of basket content and quantity of cryptocurrencies set in each bundle.
The content and quantity within a basket doesn’t change while cryptocurrency prices fluctuate.
Example 1
XRP / XML Bundle
Basket content and quantity: 1 XLM & 1 XRP
A (1 XLM + 1 XRP) cap adjusted allocation means that for every $100 invested, the total amount required to purchase 1 XLM and 1 XRP will be calculated and then scaled up so that the total is $100.
Example calculation:
First purchase, week 1:
Investment amount: $100
XRP price: $0.30
XLM price: $0.10
100 / ($0.30+$0.10) = 250 (quantity of each cryptocurrency within the Bundle purchasable)
XRP = $0.30 * 250 = $75 worth of XRP will be allocated to the bundle
XLM = $0.10 * 250 = $25 worth of XLM will be allocated to the bundle
The price of cryptocurrencies can change quickly, which will result in different cryptocurrency allocation over time when using cap adjusted allocation, e.g.
2nd purchase, 4 weeks later:
Investment amount: $100
XRP price: $0.50
XLM price: $4.50
100 / ($0.50+$4.50) = 20 (quantity of each cryptocurrency within the Bundle)
XRP = $0.50 * 20 = $10 worth of XRP will be allocated to the bundle
XLM = $4.50 * 20 = $90 worth of XLM will be allocated to the bundle
Note: For the purpose of this example, applicable fees were not included.
