How to deposit AUD with PayPal

1. Sign in to your CoinJar account.

2. From the Home page, select Deposit Cash or Transfer > Deposit Cash.

3. Select PayPal as the payment method.

4. Enter the amount (minimum $10 AUD) and select Review Deposit.

5. Sign in to PayPal when prompted.

6. Select your PayPal funding source, then select Complete Purchase.

7. Funds appear in your CoinJar balance within 60 seconds.

All PayPal deposits can only be used to buy cryptocurrency on CoinJar.

How to withdraw AUD with PayPal

1. Sign in to CoinJar and select Withdraw Cash.

2. Select your Australian Dollar (AUD) account.

3. Select PayPal as the payment method.

4. Enter the amount and select Review Withdrawal.

5. Review the details and select Confirm.

6. Funds arrive in your PayPal wallet within 60 seconds.

Withdrawals can only be sent to the same PayPal account used for your first deposit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can PayPal-funded AUD be used?

AUD deposited via PayPal can only be used to buy cryptocurrency on CoinJar. It can't be withdrawn back to your PayPal account immediately.

Your Available Balance in CoinJar shows how much you can withdraw to a bank account, and excludes any AUD sourced from PayPal. If you try to withdraw a PayPal-funded amount to a bank, you'll see an in-app message showing the restricted portion.

Why is my PayPal deposit being declined?

PayPal can decline a payment for several reasons, such as a legal name mismatch between your PayPal account and your CoinJar account. Please refer to the requirements set out above.

Can I change my linked PayPal account on CoinJar?

The PayPal account used for your first deposit is linked automatically for AUD withdrawals. You can remove the PayPal account from your CoinJar account via More > Linked Accounts > PayPal Account.

Can I use PayPal for Recurring Buy?

PayPal deposits can be used to fund manual cryptocurrency buys. Recurring Buys aren't supported with PayPal at this time.

Is PayPal available to Company/Trust/SMSF accounts?

No. PayPal on CoinJar is available to verified individual accounts only. 

If you're funding a Company, Trust, or SMSF account, you can deposit AUD via bank transfer or PayID from a bank account in the entity's name.
