This error is commonly shown if you are not running the latest version of the CoinJar app. Please ensure that you are running version 2.4.0 or later to order CoinJar Card.
Ordering and activating your CoinJar Card
The app says "Coming Soon" when I try to order a physical CoinJar Card. What do I do?
You may be running an outdated version of the CoinJar app. Please ensure that you are running version 2.6.0 or later.
Ordering and activating your CoinJar Card
The mobile number that was pre-filled in the card order page is outdated or inaccurate. How do I update this?

The name on my CoinJar Card is incorrect. How do I correct this?
We use your legal name that was recorded when you initially verified your identity. If your name has changed or is incorrect, please contact CoinJar Support for further assistance.
Can I have multiple CoinJar Cards?
You can only have one CoinJar Card.
Can I have a secondary cardholder on my CoinJar Card?
No, you’re unable to have multiple users on your CoinJar Card since it is connected directly to your personal CoinJar account.
I don't have Google Pay or Apple Pay. How do I use CoinJar Card in-stores?
You'll need to order a physical CoinJar Card.
I have a digital and physical CoinJar Card. Why do I have two different card numbers?
Your digital CoinJar Card and physical CoinJar Card will have differing card numbers and security codes. Not to worry; no matter which card number is used, CoinJar will seamlessly deduct funds from your chosen spend account.
Can I spend my CoinJar Exchange balance?
You cannot specify your CoinJar Exchange account as your spend account. Please transfer the desired funds from CoinJar Exchange to your CoinJar account.
Can I use my CoinJar Card to withdraw cash from an ATM?
Owners of a physical CoinJar Card are able to withdraw cash from most ATMs that accept prepaid Mastercard cards. Owners of a digital CoinJar Card will be unable to do so as CoinJar Card does not support cardless cash. CoinJar cannot guarantee that you will be able to use your CoinJar Card in ATMs outside of Australia.
Can I use my CoinJar Card overseas?
Yes, you'll be able to use your CoinJar Card with overseas merchants if they accept prepaid Mastercard cards. Foreign transaction fees may apply.
Can I use my CoinJar Card to fund my PayPal account or similar service?
You'll be able to use your CoinJar Card with most online payment systems that accept prepaid Mastercard cards.
Can I use my CoinJar Card to fund my Afterpay account or similar service?
You'll be able to use your CoinJar Card wherever a prepaid Mastercard is accepted. Contact your Buy Now Pay Later service for more information.
Why is my CoinJar Card being declined?
Your Card may be declined for any of these reasons:
- There are insufficient funds in your chosen spend account.
- The funds you are attempting to spend are being held in the reserved balance.
- You have exceeded your daily limit and/or the attempted transaction would exceed your daily limit.
- The merchant doesn't accept prepaid Mastercard cards.
- Your card has been deactivated or marked as lost/stolen.
What are the spending limits with CoinJar Card?
Generally, you'll be able to spend up to $5,000 per day with your Card. Please refer to our article on Fees and limits for more information.
What should I do if my card has been lost/stolen, or unauthorised transactions have been made using my card?
If you notice an unauthorised transaction or believe that your card information has become compromised, please disable your card immediately via the CoinJar app:
- Tap on the Card tab in the CoinJar app
- Tap on Manage Card
- Tap on the toggle next to ‘CoinJar Card is active’.
Please contact CoinJar Support immediately if you do not recognise a transaction made with your CoinJar Card.

How do I dispute a charge?
We encourage you to contact the merchant as the first step in resolving a payment or purchase dispute. If you couldn't resolve the issue with the merchant, you can contact us to dispute the transaction.

How do refunds work?
When you make a purchase using your CoinJar Card, CoinJar sells your cryptocurrency from your chosen spend account, converts it to AUD, and sends the funds to the merchant.
If CoinJar receives a refund from the merchant, the funds will be returned to your account within 48 hours.
