Welcome to CoinJar
At CoinJar we provide a simple, friendly, and secure way to manage and trade cryptocurrencies online.
We're primarily based in Australia and the United Kingdom - offering currency exchange and bank transfer services to Australian or United Kingdom residents.
To get started using your CoinJar, we need some basic details from you - beginning with your name and email address.

UK residents are required under local regulations to wait 24-hours as a “cooling off” period (from account creation), before their account is active (i.e. to deposit, trade, withdraw etc.)
Get verified
If you wish to use CoinJar's bank transfer and currency exchange features, we need you to complete ID verification. To begin, please sign in to your Identity Portal and follow the directions provided.
Verify your identity
UK residents are required (in accordance with local legislation) to complete an appropriateness assessment to show they understand the risks associated with what crypto/investment they are about to buy and enabling CoinJar to categorise them as an investor. You will be required to complete this assessment and categorisation during the verification process.
Keeping your CoinJar secure
At CoinJar, the security of your funds and personal details is our top priority. Besides using a strong password that is unique to your CoinJar, the best way to keep your cryptocurrencies secure is by enabling Enhanced Security (2FA).
Enhanced Security utilises two-factor authentication to ensure that whenever you’re attempting to sign in to your CoinJar, you will need to approve the sign in session from another of your personal devices. Even if someone is able to determine your email and password, they won’t be able to sign in without first providing this additional layer of authentication. We highly recommend it.

Accounts
Within your CoinJar, each different type of currency is stored in its own separate account. This makes it easy to see at first glance how much of each currency you have available. You can transfer funds from one type of account to another, and CoinJar will automatically trade that amount for you.
Transferring funds from your bank account into your CoinJar
You can deposit funds from your personal bank account into your CoinJar at any time. Once your funds are received and approved, they’ll automatically be added to your CoinJar. From here, you can transfer them across into your Bitcoin account to convert the funds into bitcoin, or to any of your other currency accounts.

Buying and selling cryptocurrencies
With funds available in your CoinJar, you can select ‘Convert’ to convert those funds in to any of the supported cryptocurrencies on CoinJar. CoinJar will step you through the process and provide you with a quote. Once you confirm this, your funds will be instantly converted.
Transferring funds between accounts
UK residents are required under local regulations to wait 24-hours as a “cooling off” period (from account creation), before their account is active (i.e. to deposit, trade, withdraw etc.)
Using CoinJar Exchange
If you're after a more advanced trading experience, CoinJar Exchange provides the ability to trade directly with other CoinJar members using active buy and sell orders.
Sending and receiving payments
Once you have funds available in your CoinJar, you can send it to others by exchanging CoinJar contact details, and creating a new payment. Adding people to your Contacts makes for an easy reference for future payments.
To receive payments from external wallets, you can view your receiving address within your CoinJar. This is a unique code that can be shared with anyone in the world, and any funds of that cryptocurrency type sent to this address will be added to your CoinJar. Of course, others can also provide you with their own receiving address for you to make a payment to their non-CoinJar wallet.
